The ebook “Mechanics: From Newton’s Laws to Deterministic Chaos 6th edition (Graduate Texts in Physics) 2018” provides a comprehensive coverage of all aspects of mechanics. The book covers Newtonian mechanics, canonical mechanics, rigid body mechanics, relativistic mechanics, and nonlinear dynamics. This edition is revised and updated with additional examples, explanations and problems, as well as new sections on applications in science. The book discusses symmetries, invariance principles, and basic geometric aspects of mechanics, as well as elements of continuum mechanics. Students will be able to develop general principles from which equations of motion follow, understand the importance of canonical mechanics and symmetries as a foundation for quantum mechanics, and practice using general theoretical concepts essential for all branches of physics. The ebook contains over 150 problems with complete solutions and practical examples that make moderate use of computers. University students will appreciate this book as a supplement to lectures on mechanics. The book ends with historical notes on scientists who have made important contributions to the development of mechanics.
