Carol J. Huston

Dr. Carol J. Huston has been a nursing professor at California State University, Chico (CSUC) since 1982. She has co-authored seven leading textbooks on leadership, management, and professional issues in nursing, totaling 23 editions, and has published over 100 articles in prominent professional journals. Dr. Huston has also been a keynote speaker and presenter at more than 300 nursing and healthcare conferences worldwide.

As the 2007-2009 President of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), Dr. Huston has played a vital role in shaping the nursing field. She was Co-Chairperson of the 2010 International Year of the Nurse (IYNurse) Initiative, a global partnership effort between STTI, the Nightingale Initiative for Global Health, and the Nightingale Museum of London. Dr. Huston currently leads the STTI Experienced Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy (2014-present) and is the Leadership Facilitator/Coordinator for the STTI Global Healthcare Leadership Institute, launched in Washington, DC, in 2016.

Additionally, Dr. Huston has been a member of the Enloe Medical Center (Chico, CA) Board of Trustees since 2012 and has chaired the board since 2016. Her extensive contributions to nursing and healthcare have made her a respected and influential leader in the industry.
