Basic Statistics for Business and Economics, Ninth Edition (PDF) is the perfect introductory survey of descriptive and inferential statistics for business and economics students. The material is presented clearly and concisely, with a focus on developing students’ analytical and critical thinking skills, so they can apply statistical methods to real-world business problems. The authors employ a step-by-step methodical approach that reduces students’ apprehension about the subject matter, making it easier for them to gain a solid understanding of statistics concepts.

The latest edition features reorganized chapters that correspond with the learning goals outlined in the book. This clarification helps make the course more manageable for both students and instructors. Brand new to the 9th Edition is the addition of Data Analytics sections at the end of each chapter. These sections provide students with exercises to develop their analytical skills in organizing, summarizing, and evaluating information. Real-world exercises enhance students’ learning, and three data sets run throughout the book to reinforce concepts learned.

Digital resources like Connect, uniquely integrated with the course, help students apply what they’ve learned and achieve better results. Connect is the only learning system that continuously adapts to deliver precisely what students need, when, and how they require it. This way, class time becomes a more engaging and effective experience for students.
