Ms. Cherie I. Hoeger received her degree in English with an emphasis on editing for publication. As a free-lance writer and editor for the past 18 years, Cherie has worked on projects for magazines, newsletters, websites, and Cengage Learning (previously known as Thomson Learning and Brooks/Cole). She has also worked as a textbook copy editor for Cengage Learning.
Ten years ago, she started working as a freelance editor and researcher on the Hoeger's Fitness & Wellness textbook titles. Later, she became a co-author on three of the best-selling etextbooks.
Sharon A. Hoeger
Sharon A. Hoeger is Vice President of Fitness and Wellness, Inc. in Boise, Idaho, and holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from Brigham Young University. Sharon Hoeger, a co-author of five Cengages textbooks, conducts research on contemporary scientific information for revisions and creates interactive software companions, innovations that currently set the bar for fitness and wellness software. The husband-and-wife Hoeger team has spent over four decades creating, innovating, and training together.
Werner W.K. Hoeger
Dr. Werner W.K. Hoeger is Professor Emeritus in the Department of Kinesiology at Boise State University and a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Research Consortium of SHAPE America (Society of Health and Physical Educators).
At the ages of twenty and twenty-four, Dr. Hoeger earned master's and doctoral degrees in the field of exercise science. Werner, a former All-American athlete and Winter Olympian, created several of the well-liked fitness assessment techniques still in use today, including the modified sit and reach, total body rotation, shoulder rotation, muscular endurance, and soda pop coordination tests.
Dr. Hoeger is a renowned expert and lecturer in the fields of exercise physiology, physical fitness, and wellness. He was given the Boise State University Presidential Award for Research and Scholarship. His books on fitness and wellness have been published in numerous editions including Fitness & Wellness, Principles And Labs For Fitness & Wellness, Principles And Labs For Physical Fitness, Lifetime Physical Fitness and Wellness, Wellness: Guidelines For A Healthy Lifestyle, and Water Aerobics For Fitness And Wellness.
